Ignite Sport

On Tuesday the 27th of February we here at Ignite Sport had the privilege of helping at the Athletes with a Disability (AWAD) Athletics Day for 2018. This was the third year that we have been present at the day. It was also even more special this year to be involved, having spent 2017 working alongside the Special Needs Unit (SNU) at Naenae College, as we got to see some of those kids in action.

Although involved in many parts of the day we were especially involved in the track events where we were called on to be ace time recorders. One of the most rewarding moments of the day was seeing the enormous smiles on the runners faces as they crossed the finish line. We also competed in some fun races and the end relay which was extremely enjoyable.

The warm up was also ran by our own Josh Cody. All the schools were gathered together for some stretches and then a fun session of jump jam to get them excited! Watch Josh and the team in action by clicking on the picture below.

Overall the kids seemed to have an amazing time and it was a real pleasure and very heart warming for us to be involved once again.
