Over Easter Weekend Ignite Sport again attended Central Easter camp, which is run from Manfeild Park in Fielding. While Ignite has been running the sports competitions as part of this camp for many years, this year was the second time we had the privilege of taking some of the Ignite youth with us. The group of six that came along were from previous sports camp teams that were keen to continue the journey with Ignite Sport.
At the camp we had the responsibility of running the major sports tournaments that happen over the weekend, involving more than 40 different youth groups and over 500 different young people. The entire Ignite team were excellent at making sure each of the different events ran smoothly and it was fantastic to see our young people excel in their role of running the event.
While the sports tournaments were great, the highlights of the weekend for the Ignite team were the opportunities to spend time together as a team experiencing the camp and meeting other youth. We were able to create many awesome memories and new friendships throughout the weekend.
